Captain'sQuarters

Captain's Quarters is a vacation rental home located in White Sound on Elbow Cay in Abaco, Bahamas. Fly to Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas from Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, West Palm, or Nassau and take a ferry to Elbow Cay. Renters will be met at the ferry by the home's caretakers. The view from the back side of the house is of White Sound and the Sea of Abaco. A private dock is available just off the deck. Boats may be rented in Marsh Harbour.

The home is about 2100 sq. ft. with four bedrooms and three baths. Two of the bedrooms are master suites with king beds. The other two bedrooms share a bath. One has a king bed and the other has twins that may be converted to a king on request.

Captain's Quarters is fully equipped with linens and kitchen supplies. There is an HDTV with satellite connection in both the living room and one master suite. There is an assortment of DVD's, games, and books for entertainment on rainy days. A phone may be used for local calls. Calling cards for long distance are purchased on the island from Batelco, the local phone company. A desk area with computer is located in the living area. Internet access is possible but the connection is slow until a DSL line is installed at the house.

A large deck and small pool with an adjacent screened porch has a beautiful view of White Sound. A smoker/grill on the deck is perfect for outdoor cooking.

Hope Town with its candy-cane striped lighthouse is located a couple of miles from the house. A golf cart is recommended for getting around on the island. These are available from one of several rental businesses on the island. Hope Town has a few very good restaurants with waterfront views. The Lodge is a great place to visit the beach and even snorkel a bit right off the beach.

Two small resorts are located very near Captain's Quarters: the Abaco Inn and Sea Spray. Both have restaurants open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Abacos are best seen when you have a boat. There are many small cays off the coast of Abaco that are easy to visit on day trips. Boating, snorkeling, looking for shells, or just finding a private beach are favorite activities.
